This race is held on the first Saturday in June. After running the first June Classic out of Chippewa Park in 1981, this dual distance event (5km and 10km) was moved to it’s current location at Boulevard Lake. The June Classic has always been a popular event attracting anywhere from 150 to 225 runners throughout its history. Age group medals are presented to those in the 13-15 and 16-19 age groups. Top three finisher awards are given out to those 20 and over for both female and male categories in the 5km race and the 10km race. In addition, awards are presented to the top Metre Eater finishers for both women and men in the 5km and 10km race.
