The Nipigon Fall Fishing Festival is more than just a fishing derby. It is a chance for families, friends and visitors to get together and have an enjoyable time, taking part in a great variety of activities over several days. It is also the longest continuously running event along the north shore of Lake Superior.
What makes the event more than a fishing derby? Follow the parade that begins in downtown Nipigon and finishes at the arena. While you’re at the arena, make sure you enjoy the booths, raffles, food, entertainment and prizes. If you feel like getting some fresh air you can go outside and watch a baseball game, take in the antique car display, participate in races or test your skills in the Firemen’s Challenge. If you need a chance to relax, come on over to the curling club and see some fish being entered. Later in the afternoon, you can grab something to eat at several locations and take in the dance if you like.
